All enemies can be "bountied," which allows the Stranger to cash them in at the bounty store. The player progresses through the game by taking bounty missions thatĬonsist of trekking though waves of enemies to fight unique bosses. The game is split between third-person platforming and first-person shooting. The demon escapes, as it goes into the now flowing river. But as Sekto lies dying, the Stranger sees that the demon was possessing Sekto, who was also really a Steef. Stranger kills Sekto, and the remaining raiders, as well as destroying the dam that was drying the town of it’s water. As he returns to the town, he realizes that the demon that he first heard about is Sekto. Stranger escapes from the raiders, killing all of them in a large explosion, and runs back to the Grubbs town. In the beginning of the game, Stranger captures numerous criminals to pay for a mysterious operation. Series publisher Oddworld Inhabitants has experienced a bit of a comeback in recent years with the help of developer Just Add Water. Other games released under the Oddworld banner were considered by the developers to be ‘bonus games’ or outright spin-offs, like Stranger’s Wrath. The Oddworld series was originally intended to be a quintology but only two titles from the original plan were ever released, Abe’s Oddysee and Munch’s Oddysee. It has since also seen an HD re-release for the PC and Playstation 3 developed by Just Add Water. Focusing on the eponymous bounty hunter hero Stranger, it is a first-person spin-off from the Oddworld series that was originally launched in 2005 as an Xbox exclusive. Stranger’s Wrath became a cult classic and won over many fans with its original release. A Wii U version of the game was also announced in 2013. It will feature native iOS gamepad support, cloud saving, achievements and leaderboards.Īs well as the iOS version, an Android version is currently in development, but no specific release date has been announced.
